Hello Everyone,

Well, it has been a long time since I have written on my blog.  I even forgot how to enter it and had to ask Angelika, our webmaster, to remind me.

It is now over one year since I closed the shop in Old Montreal.  Sometimes dear customers ask if I regret the decision.  Except for the fact that I miss all of my friends, the answer is no.  The Canadian dollar is high, and gas prices are high and climbing higher  – - all of which conspire to keep tourists away from Montreal.  These factors, put together with our high rents and business taxes, make owning a retail shop a pressure cooker.

As Jimmy Pattison would say, “You need to know when to close a business just as well as you know when to open one”.

I have now embarked on a new career, helping folks who need a non-medical helping hand.  So far, so good – I have been busy and hope to get busier.

My plans for the blog include sharing the stories of some of our clients – with their permission, of course.

So if you are interested, watch this spot.  And do let us know how you like the new website, beautifully made by Angelika Bertsch.

In the meantime, a belated thank you all for your notes and e-mails of support.  I was extremely touched to know how many people liked my little Canadiana shop.

PS – We have a new member of the family.  His name is Robert Bruce, and he is a Cairn Terrier.  Here he is, sleeping on his big sister True.
